Introduction

This reading aims to introduce the On-line Readings in Testing and Assessment (ORTA) to readers. The aims of the International Test Commission (ITC) will be provided to show how the ORTA project fits into the bigger picture of what the ITC is trying to achieve. Thereafter, the vision of ORTA will be discussed. This is followed by a brief overview of the structure of ORTA and the evolving nature of how readings are added. The concluding section focuses on how readers might want to participate in ORTA.
