Abstract submissions are invited that focus on theoretical issues,
empirical research, or case studies relating to equitable assessment
within any of the above contexts. These assessment contexts may
address such topics as: academic achievement/learning, adaptive
functioning/social skills, applied behavioral assessment, bias
detection, cognitive assessment, cross-cultural/cross-national
assessment, fairness in testing, legal mandates and ethical issues,
measurement/psychometric applications, motoric assessment, personnel
selection and promotion, personality assessment, test translation/adaptation,
or similar assessment-related issues and constructs. Topics may
include any of a variety of testing methods and procedures (e.g.,
computer-based/ internet-based assessment, individual/group assessments,
interviewing, nonverbal assessment, objective/ projective techniques,
observational techniques, paper/pencil, play-based assessment,
self/other-report). Abstracts also may highlight equitable assessment
issues related to differential effects of examinee demographics
in test construction and application.
Submissions
Abstract submissions should describe the topic in sufficient
detail to permit evaluation of the proposal. Presentations
may be made for any of the following:
Symposia and Focused Papers
Abstract submissions are invited for symposia and focused papers
on topics that relate to one or more of the twelve conference areas
(A through L). These sessions are intended to permit more in depth
coverage of the main areas covered at the conference and to encourage
discussion among presenters and conference attendees.
Oral Paper Sessions
Submissions are also invited for briefer oral presentations. The
emphasis of the conference oral papers will be on discussion and
interaction. Thus, the number of oral papers will be small.
Such papers should complement the equitable assessment theme of
the conference.
Workshops
Proposals are invited for workshop sessions related to equitable
assessment practices (e.g., instruments, procedures, practices,
legal issues).
Poster Sessions
Posters will be allocated a board. Further details regarding format
and layout will be sent to the authors of accepted poster proposals.
